I am delighted to be the lead judge of the sourdough category of The Tiptree World Bread Awards. These awards are a unique and celebrate the skill of bread-making in every sense.
The World Bread Awards
I’ve watched The Tiptree World Bread Awards go from strength to strength, with almost double the number of entries this year, and it’s great to see all the bakers take part, especially as bread competitions are part of baking heritage.
Whilst I love all competitions that get people to baking I particularly love that these awards both encourage and acknowledge the art of baking for everyone. The awards are open to all, from specialist bakeries to artisan home bread makers, small high street bakers, novices and professionals alike.
The loaves at this years World Bread Award were just fantastic quality this year and i was lucky enough to have a team of 8 judges for the sourdough category. Bread is a huge industry in the UK with an estimated 12 million loaves are sold every day, so for me good bread is a direct reflection of life.
Thank you to Tiptree for sponsoring such an amazing event.

Hi I love the video, I entered in the Home bake and got silver, so I am well chuffed 🙂
I like the terracotta baking pan you have…if it is that, could you send me a link to what it is?
Thanks
Andrew
