A hormone which helps regulate your sleep cycle. Its production is influenced by your body’s internal clock and by exposure to light. Generally, melatonin levels will rise through the evening, and fall in the morning. While light patterns during the day can affect melatonin production, there are also some foods which contain melatonin and are thought to give a sense of calm when eaten. These include tomatoes, cherries, cow’s milk, and walnuts.
